Meet & greet

Our first step in providing you with a bespoke solution is to meet and greet. This will normally involve meeting our company owner, Brian Duggan as well as your dedicated project manager at our showroom in Excelsior, Mm.  We believe this is a very first step to establish a good client relationship, it is reassuring to know who you are talking to. Some of all clients knows exactly what they are after, some are not certain,  a demonstration viewing gives you the opportunity to gain some hands-on experience and discover new features and element which are available to you.

On-site Analysis
We look at your needs, existing set up, and discuss how integrated systems could enhance your lifestyle and home. Not only does this give us the opportunity to fully understand your requirements more thoroughly, but it also allows us the opportunity to give you suggestions and recommendations.

Procurement
Initial proposals, designs & specification, and budgets: We turn our proposals into initial designs and present these for your approval, together with estimated costs. We select the finest equipment available within the given budget, and assemble a product portfolio for your approval, together with full specifications and a detailed quotation. 

Design

Full System Design

On receipt of the design fee we overlay all the positions of all the equipment onto your architectural plans (when available) and produce any designs required for cabinetry, lighting fixtures etc.

Schematics
We draw the wiring schematics on the architectural plans and produce a cable schedule of every cable to be run. This is passed onto the on site electrician (where present) along with all specialist cables and instruction on labeling.

Functionality Specification
A room by room functionality specification is signed off by both parties and detailing every features, what the system will do, and what is excluded.

Project Management

Project Kickoff
A dedicated on site project manager, will brief all tradesman at the beginning of the project. Each tradesman will be given an instruction document detailing exactly what is required of all parties, for example the electrician, cabinet maker, plumbers and builder.

Agree on Project Schedule
We liaise with all professional bodies involved on the project to determine a precise time frame for individual activities and completion.

On-Site Meetings and Regular Updates
Our project manager keeps you informed of progress throughout the project. He will be on site to resolve any issues arise during the project. On-site meetings and telephone conference are scheduled in advance.

Rest Assured
Our project manager is a highly qualified professional. He will ensure key mile-stones will be met and delivered on time. All stakeholders are kept informed should any issues or resources puts the project at risk. 

Implementation

Electrical Wiring Infrastructure
All wiring is installed, either by our electricians or your own electrician after a thorough briefing.

Cable Preparation
Once building and plastering is complete, we can terminate the installed cables and attach the relevant connectors ready for the equipment installation.

Network Preparation
A strong home network setup is the core to all home automation system. Our network engineers will be on-site to analyze and make recommendation in areas such as security (firewalls), bandwidth, and wireless equipment. If any necessary upgrade is required, this will be suggested to you. 

Equipment Installation
Speakers, televisions, amplifiers, control units, dimmers, motor blinds, air conditioning, security alarm and all other equipment is installed, tested and sign off by our specialist engineers.

CONFIGURATION

Programming Control
Our preferred partners Savant Systems and Crestron offers the ability to program and make configuration changes seamlessly. Majority of the work will be implement at our office. Very little configuration is required to be done on-site. However our engineers will execute a comprehensive functional and performance tests to ensure all configuration are working accordingly. Any further changes or updates can be done remotely as part of service maintenance.

Setup and Optimization
We setup all the equipment using professional apparatus to ensure the best possible performance and resilience.

System Walk-though
We walk you through the system room by room, demonstrating exactly how everything works and ticking off everything on the original functionality spec.

Follow Up
We leave you to enjoy the system for a week or two, during this time we ask you kindly to make a note of any issues or equipment failure, then return to see if anything needs adjusting or changing to your particular preferences.

After Sales Service Support

Owner’s Manual
We provide an easy-to-understand manual on how the system works detailing individual and central functions warranties with service contract details.

Check-Up
We leave you to enjoy the system for a period of time generally 6 months, then visit to see if anything needs adjusting or changing to your particular preferences.

System Upgrade
This is not requested often by our clients, but recently some of our projects which were completed in the period of 2006-2010 requires this, as automation technology grown rapidly over the past decade. We are able to offer more to our customers.

Other after sales service
This includes assisting clients who are planning to sale their property with installation previously completed by Union Place. Transfer of ownership, means that we will train and guide new owners on the system or if the new owner(s) wishes to upgrade the existing system.
